Historically started in the 1980’s as a land mobile two-way radio shop serving local governments and various police agencies in Virginia. In the early 1990’s efforts expanded to full service emergency apparatus outfitting providing lights, sirens, and other public safety vehicle products and services to agencies in Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky and the District of Columbia. In 1999, the Internet website launched and added product lines that included clothing / duty equipment and custom insignia like badges, patches, lapel pins and challenge coins. In 2004 we added our own brand of badges that are custom made for only our customers.

Offices and Showroom are located in Virginia, near Washington D.C. and the Nations' Capital. A second showroom is located in the heart of Virginia; both showrooms are by appointment only.  City Police Equipment and Public Safety Supply is registered with Dun & Bradstreet, the U.S. Department of Defense CCR and with the Virginia Department of General Services e-procurement system.  In addition to this Internet website, City Police Equipment and Public Safety Supply uses several commissioned agent representatives to call on local public safety departments and agencies nationwide.

Operations and day-to-day activities are managed by a "Director of Public Safety" who has had experience with a top secret U.S. Federal Agency, a city police dept. in the state of North Carolina, a town police dept. in Virginia, two different state agencies in Virginia, and was last employed in law-enforcement as a sworn deputy sheriff at a county sheriff's office in Virginia.

Outside Sales are handled by commissioned sales agents and are overseen by a "Sales Manager" who is a former law-enforcement officer, has served as a deputy sheriff in Indiana, and has worked as an executive administrator of large state agencies in Indiana, Alabama, North Carolina and Virginia.
